You know what a lot of you were like just let the *ish* go, take them back and
leave it at that.... That's what I decided to do. 55 definitely won't break me!

This is what happened.

Hey Brothers, Just wanted to update you and let you know that I went back.
Above the counter they have a no refund/no return policy. The wife brought
that up, and the husband stated that he didn't know me and that i possibly
could have done something to the cigar, and he wouldn't be comfortable
putting it back in his humidor and reselling them.

There were other unbanded cigars that had the same moldy look to them,
and they both swore up and down that mold is blue or green. NOT WHITE!!!

So his offer in compromise was to "Split it and give me a refund of 25.00"
I paid 55 and some change and half would have been 27.50 but I just said
Fugh It!

I explained to him that I had over 1000.00 worth of boxes of cigars sitting
out in my truck (that had just come in today) and that I wasn't some petty
NEWBIE smoker, but i opted to simply part ways and never go back.

He gave me a beer, and a punch maduro rothschild to try and win me over as
a remaining customer, but it's not going down....

So the cookie crumbles... You win some, you lose some!:pokemyeye

Oh hell no, you did the right thing by taking them back, cheap bastids screwed you!

I would have told him that I hoped he choked on his beer and cheap cigar!

Nice work brother, sorry you had to go through it and didn't get a full refund.

I can't believe the nerve of the guy calling you out and wondering if you did something to the cigars. I don't think I could've stuck around and had a beer with him that's for sure...

But remember, you were the better man and did the right thing.

I don't know which one actually got me a little high? The full moon
beer, the stick, or a combination of both. I had a serious buzz there
for a minute.

Even though i wasn't happy, the beer and cigar helped to ease some
of my tension....

I don't think I could have stomached the Punch Maduro POS...

Excel, I'm glad you at least got some of your money refunded bro! At least you know that's one more B&M that won't get your business.

The shyster probably did something to the cigar! I am glad to see that you are the better man and that you are letting others know of their tactics.

Sorry to hear that Eric. You're probably not the only unsatisfied customer, and by now, he knows that too. Hope you find a better shop to supply your stash.

Well for one, the selection was NEVER that great! I have a virus, anytime i see
the word cigars in front of a business I have to stop, so being "fresh off the boat"
last june, i saw the sign, pulled up and went right in. Bought an El Rey Mundo in
the tissue cloth of 9.00 and some change, something else, and I kept it movin.
Im very rarely on that side of town so its not like i would regularly frequent the
place anyway.

There are some great places to buy sticks here in Atlanta, and I'm sure that
brothers like Tim, Daryl, and even Kyle:grinFU: can attest to that! U
can rest assured that i'm good!:ccool:

Sorry to hear that Eric. You're probably not the only
unsatisfied customer, and by now, he knows that too. Hope you find a better
shop to supply your stash.

They don't deserve your business...Their loss, Excel.
You did the right thing. And the nerve of him to suggest that you were the one who was responsible for the mold? There is not one person in the cigar industry, with all modern technology at their disposal who could grow that much mold in such a small amount of time!

That sucks bro, not good business by the B&M at all. If they sold you the cigars they knew the condition they were in before you left the shop.

I hope you've let Pete know about the situation.

One more thing. I believe the sticks you bought were TATAUJE LA RIQUEZA. That means there made by Pete Johnson. Who also is a Outstanding person in general and a hell of a business man. PM him on here and let him know of the retailer. This B&M not only represents themselves but PETE'S business as well. Maybe he may just wan't to send a rep in and have a talk with them or pull his line. There are only 300+ dealers of Tat products and there are honorable B&Ms that would give there 1st born right now to sell his products. Please send him a Pm just to let him know. It wouldn't hurt. At lest then he knows about this retailer 1st hand. My 2 cents.

+1. I'd do this if it happened to me.

The closest B&M to me is notorious for over-charging (usually marked up at least 20% above retail, and then complain anytime you're there about how taxes are killing them--cry me a freakin' river). Anyway, every time I'm there I check the prices on the Tats to make sure they're right--I'm expecting them to jack them at some point and blame it on the SCHIP tax, when I know that Pete pays that tax himself! If/when they do, Pete will hear about it. I'm not normally a nazi like that at all, but this B&M pisses me off, lol.

It always amazes me when business owners can be so short-sighted, especially in this economy. A simple rule of customer service is to do whatever it takes to earn return business. Had he apologized and given you a full refund, you probably would have become a loyal customer and spread the word to friends. By pointing to a sign and doing the wrong thing, he lost a lot of future business from you and everyone on here!

Let me get this straight...you went into the shop...looked at those cigars and said, yum? The owner thinks it is plume? This sounds like the blind leading the blind. Sorry this happened but caveat emptor eh.

Ditto. That's the same thing as buying the green meat from the grocery store and then crying foul when you get sick.

I'm sure you were hoping it was something better but it never turns out that way. I'm really glad you just let it go though...it should have never escalated the way the other thread ended up.
