sorry. . . It was a general question to begin with I was really just curious in general if it was ok to take your own sticks to a cigar shop. That's why I wasn't upset about the corking fee and didn't mention it. . . I was planning on buying some wine there as well. . . I run a coffee shop and I know how upset I'd be if someone brought coffee into my shop. But this is a different environment. I'm going to buy a couple cheap sticks and probably a couple beers while I'm there. . . and I'm sure everyone else is going to definately make it worth his while.

Pop's is a good place, run by good folks. I don't buy cigars from them (they are very high), but I always buy drinks from them. They have some decent port selections and are fairly knowledgeable about their offerings.

Basically, this place is a cigar bar. You should never feel compelled to purchase a cigar at a cigar bar. You should be free to bring your own as long as you buy drinks from them.

Regardless, have fun Jason.

Great! I always love great questions. But when you leave out details, how can a good advice or response be given. And based on your response of, "I run a coffee shop and I know how upset I'd be if someone brought coffee into my shop...." I think you already knew that asnwer! Correct? Is that resopsonse any different that bringing your own smokes to an establishment that sells cigars? Now, the horse is dead, so that's it.

But, to answer your question about bringing your own cigars here's my final reply. I bring my own smokes to shops on occasions and when I do, I make a concsious (sp?) decision to buy a smoke from that shop! Usually something in like value of what i'm smoking at the time!

That's true. If the bar is part of the cigar store, then it isn't as necessary to buy a stick as long as you are buying drinks.

The only B&Ms I have around here seem to be Cigar bars. The main one I go to is a Cigar Bar. Were I to go there now I would not be buying cigars. But I'd certainly get a drink.

I agree. I always buy something of the place that I am hanging out in.
