Very well handled. If I was your manager and you reported such to me and being his second offence, he would be gone.

Sorry for the ruined cigar experience.

So, you're training this guy? I'm gonna assume that this requires a "passing grade" at some point. Snatch the phone out of his hand, hang it up for him, keep the phone for the rest of the ride, tell him "break the rules again!" and fail him. Might not be an option for you, but that's how a crusty Army NCO would deal with it. Nobody, but nobody, f^*#'s with me when I'm in charge. Sorry he wrecked your smoke.....

Jerks will be jerks but lack of discipline while on the wheel of a large truck could endanger a lot of lives. Can't imagine the stunts he'd be capable of when he's driving on his own.

Usually I smoke outside alone. Otherwise, I go to a cigar parlour, where most of the time the conversation is pretty light. But once I was stuck with a guy who was talking my ear off, and I had the experience that you describe so well...I didn't even remember smoking the cigar.

I knew it was coming...my student, who knows everything about everything and wont let me teach him, played the race card with me today. It's all because he is black that we aren't getting along. It's all because he is black that I am putting him off of my truck. I hate the race card...I hate the race card.

Glad that it worked out. Looks like your fleet manager had the good sense to tell a stand-up guy from a poser. he should use that ability to better screen his trainees in the future. Hope you have a favorite cigar in the cards to help detox over the weekend. Chalk-up another win for the good guys.:cbig:

Sounds like an arrogant ass that might get someone killed someday. I would be careful to put my name behind his certification. Wouldn't surprise me if you were named in a lawsuit for his ineptitude some day with our litigious society!!!

Nope...as soon as we get back to the yard, there is a bus ticket waiting on him. He's gone.
Sounds like that's what he needs. Too bad. I know people would kill for jobs right now and here this guy goes and farks it all up for himself. Fool.

He came a hair from having my size 10 up his. He pushed me too far with his smart assed mouth and I almost lost it. He has no clue who he is jacking around with.
Glad you kept your cool and didn't unleash the "Tiger" on his ass Allen!:angryteet
Sorry that he screwed up your smoke!
