SCIENCE!I'm calling bs that you have a "ruined" tower and cigars.
Its sad that you can't even bother to google "cellophane" because if you did you'd realize that it so widespread in the cigar industry because it is permeable to water vapor (humidity) but not so much to oils, grease, air, etc. It absolutely does impede the transfer of flavors and aromas from cigar to cigar while allowing the cigar to stay humidified. Its why its still used to package some foods.
"Cellophane is a thin, transparent sheet made of regenerated cellulose. Its low permeability to air, oils, greases, bacteria, and water makes it useful for food packaging...Cellophane saw limited sales in the US at first since while it was waterproof, it was not moisture proof—it held water but was permeable to water vapor.

You blinded me with it.SCIENCE!
Have you tried panties?3 Months of sitting with baking soda in it, 3 different days open in the sun and wind during that time, and still if you touch the drawers you get acid smell on your hands.
Have you tried panties?
Your story is annoying, terrible and full of holes. You got a humidor from someone else and have created a whole story about why its now destroyed from one cigar. You dont know if there were a bunch of acids in there out of cellophane for a year, you have no idea how the humidor or the cigars were cared for because it was owned by someone who quit smoking and people that dont smoke dont take care of their cigars that they are not going to smoke. Also if you look into my experiment I use tupadors so there is no wood to absorb any scent anyway. Wood being a natural substance can absorb a scent over time im sure but a cigar inside of cellophane is not wood. I bet if the drawers of you humidor were lined with cellophane it wouldnt have absorbed any scent. Not to mention cedar wood which most humidors are made of a has a naturally strong scent in the first place but unless you store a cigar physically touching the cedar it wont absorb any of the scent, which is why they wrap cedar around some cigars and then place them in cellophane because if they wrapped the cedar around the cellophane it wouldnt have the same effect.Hahahahaha! Holy F dude! You really think it's permeable by water vapor, but not odors? Really!?!
You think I'm lying?

And that's from one tiny acid blue being in there a few years......
Nacho Daddy has it right a few posts back.

Its funny the last place I expected to find trolls would be on a cigar forum but apparently they exist every where.I have no time to read this thread tonight. I am busy lining the shelves of my humidor with cellophane.
Thanks for your contribution to the thread. Imagine a world without GIFs, a world where you had to type in full sentences to form statements with a meaning rather than post animated pictures and act like a douche because you disagree with someone.Actual tears. I'm choking.

First of all, we have trolls, Tom is not one. He's just hilarious. Thanks for your contribution to the thread. Imagine a world without GIFs, a world where you had to type in full sentences to form statements with a meaning rather than post animated pictures and act like a douche because you disagree with someone.
I'm sorry man, but you're not going to find a nicer, more accommodating group of guys than here. Anywhere else and this would have gone far worse. Sometimes you just have to relax, lighten up, and laugh.Yeah you guys are freaking hilarious! I went out of my way here to type up and perform an experiment and share my results and you guys just pretend to be complete know it alls when no one else has done a single experiment of their own to prove me wrong besides talking about some friends humidor. I really thought this was going to be a great forum to share experiences on and discuss cigars like gentleman but clearly I signed up for the wrong forum. I wish this forum had the function some others do that allow you to simply ignore people so that you can have a nice forum experience without reading inane and annoying replies from trolls. I think I'll be in search of another forum to be a member of good day gentlemen.
In that case you might be the perfect tester Hosh. Let me send you a couple of these to see what you think.Honestly for the most part as long as the cello is on I have never had any issues with them stinking up my cigars. I keep very few infused cigars in my humidor but I definitely don't separate my Nub cafe which I do enjoy occasionally. I definitely wouldn't pull the cello off in the humidor though but I'm not as picky as others. I think it's just preference though but it's a cool experiment and brings up a lot of opinions like the old kitty litter debate. lol
