First day went better then expected. Though I do have that feeling like a "lost puppy". This morning I felt I should go for the cigarette I have when I wake up but after the initial thought I forgot all about it and got on with the day.

Just keeping myself busy and going to take it day by day.

I also heard that people who really enjoy smokes have a sour palate, My doctor recommended I put lemon juice in my water and sip away throughout the day. Apparently it suppresses another of the triggers that tells us we need to smoke.

Day two was touch and go. Went into city so wife could attend her class. ALMOST broke down and bought a pack thinking I will just have one out of it. But in the end who was I kidding. I know it would not end up being one. So I resisted.

On our drive into the city I said to my wife that this time quitting feels different. I really can't explain what I mean but I'm looking at that as a good thing and that this is finally the time I'll kick the habit for good.

Congrats man that's awesome! Cigars are wayyyy better than cigs anyways :) Plus that smell is awful. I smoked for 10 years (I'm 33) and switched to Snus. I LOVE not smelling like cigarettes anymore and the snus is brilliant. I never have an urge for a cigarette when using snus.

Grats, keep it up. My dad quit after 20+ years of smoking cigs. Took him a few tries. Now he won't even touch a cigar with me even though it's been 5+ years since he quit cigarettes. He's too concerned he'll end up back on the cigarettes.

Oh baby do I love snus. I order it direct from Sweeden. Stuff is fantastic, and as far as tobacco products, sweedish snus is fairly safe.

Well its been a week and a half and still haven't slipped up. Did have to lay off the cigars though because for the first few day I was smoking one a day. I know not as bad as cigarettes but didn't want to be depended on them on a daily basis. Also wanting to expand my collection and thought this would be a great way to do it.

I'm finally able to taste and smell better then before and also have more energy. Which is a bonus.

Funny thing is when I smoked cigarettes and would feel tired I would light one and get a boost of energy. But that was short term.
