You'd be surprised how your attitude changes when you're carrying a tool with which you can kill someone. When I wear my glock 23 (which is as often as possible) in my inside wasteband holster you can't even tell I have it. Even with a tucked in shirt. Do to the power you can wield you have a dramatic shift in responsibility. I guarantee you will be more hesitant to shoot than likely to shoot someone if you hand a gun. I always have my cell phone with me in order call proper authorities if I were involved in a confrontation along with required identification that is up to date.
Second. As much as I carry my gun around people in public no one has been mysteriously killed by my gun. It stays in the holster and, well, just sits there like the piece of plastic and metal that it is. There have been a lot of shootings here in Harrisburg lately almost one or two a weekend for the past few months. So yeah I want the opportunity to not be a mere victim. Granted I'm not dealing drugs so I will never see these punks that are responsible for the shootings and murders in Harrisburg.
As a final note. You can't fix stupid bro, and because you can't fix stupid, that does not justify removing rights and freedoms of any kind. Instead of a change that applies to all why do they not concentrate on the few causing whatever happens to be the problem. Sadly common sense approaches like this do not fair well in times like these.
