There are still bottles floating around... and I'm trying not to go pick them up...
Just an FYI... as mentioned in the OP this is hard to find in Europe, which also makes it EXCELLENT trading stock for scotch when dealing with our friends in the UK, Germany, etc.
I've seen on other forums where this bottle can easily sell for around $300+ and people can be desperate to get it because it just isn't around. So if you are looking for a bottle of scotch that hasn't made it to the States, you can trade these much like cigars are traded here.

I get a kick out of the pic in Bill's first post. That's a damn big glass of Mr. George there. Hope someone was sharing the glass with friends haha.

Wikipedia was actually correct this time. I verified it, since I have several of the bottles and checked with a trusted source.

I need to hunt and find me a bottle or two of the Stagg, I was lucky enough to get a bottle of Weller this year and that is fine bourbon.
The people at Buffalo Trace are putting out some tasty bourbons and it is a great place to visit if you get a chance.
