Starting this Saturday, ZippoGeek is out of the building for a week. Four years removed from our last vacation, the wife and I are taking the boy on a 7-day cruise Saturday for his graduation, along with some old friends. First stop is Nassau in the Bahamas on Sunday. Sadly, the Graycliff Cigar Factory is only open M-F! :banghead: At least there's "Cigars Under the Stars" on the upper deck every night. Not sure if I feel like dragging a herf-a-dor with me, so I think we'll just shell out $18 ea for Macanudos.

The ship itself is the world's largest passenger vessel, Oasis of the Seas -- longer than a Nimitz class super carrier! :jawdrop: I'm thinking there's gonna be Internet access, albeit at a steep price. So my contact with BOTL will probably be limited. I'm gonna miss you guys...

Been an avid Cruiser for 20 years and been to Nassau many times. The Graycliff Factory is fun if you've never been to it but the hotel there is nice to walk through....they should have cigars there but they aren't cheap so bring your own humidor for sure. What other ports are you going to?

St. Maarten = guava berry coladas! :hungover:
Ahhhhh....love St. Maarten! You should go to the Dutch side and on your way there ( about half way on the left hand side is a great little place that has great burgers...very good ) and the airport is right by the beach...the jets fly over your head where you can almost touch them...it's so cool. The beach is nice...great warm water but the real show is when the jets fly in for landings and people grab ahold of the chain link fence and hold on while the jet wash blasts them...what fun!

Definitely bring a her-a-dor. The money you spend on the thing, you'll save 5X by avoiding the crazy cigar mark up. Plus, you'll have a herf-a-dor!

Enjoy the cruise, brother! Wear sunscreen.

we went on the oasis (or was it the allure, the sister ship? i cant remember) it is huge. the bahamas is just "meh" - we have been there plenty of times and just stayed on the boat. it EMPTYS OUT when they get to port, that you have the boat to yourself! internet is indeed pricey. have a great time!

long story short... bring your herfador.

I took my 10 count travel humidor, most sticks on the boat were way too expensive. Bahamas was beautiful, just try not to get ripped off by the taxi cabs who charge a per person price.

Have a blast my friend. Everybody needs a good vacation from time to time. Take pictures but first and foremost... suck up the precious time with that boy and your wife.
