That looked familiar at that port as we've been there about a dozen times..did you make it over to A H Riise? Booze for nearly half price and tons of quality jewelry for great prices as well.

Greetings from the middle of the Caribbean! The boy and I just burned some Caldwells. (y) Holy schnikes, it was hot today in St. Maarten! Having an awesome trip, but glad to be headed back towards home to my cigar cooler and more reasonable temperatures.
AKA....hurry up and send those bombs before he gets home.....

One thing I'll say now that my trip is over: smoking on cruise ships isn't easy due to the wind / forward motion of the boat. I didn't enjoy the difficult lighting conditions and frequent re-lights. My sticks tasted scorched and bitter most nights. (n) Dollar for dollar, cruising is great. And Royal Caribbean is a cigar-friendly company. But I think sticks on a beach are a lot more rewarding. Just sayin.

Thanks for following my adventures, brothers!

I agree...dollar for dollar cruising is the best way to vacation as long as you know the "ins/outs" and shortcuts. There are a lot of things to know how to do a cruise the right way...a lot of people who cruise for the first time are disappointed in them because they don't have the knowledge of how to do it right and their expectations are sometimes frustrating as to what they thought was included and what they got charged up the whazoo!

For cigar lovers like myself I check out the ship first to ensure they have a nice lounge..smoking a cigar/pipe on the decks are just a PIA...each cruiseline has ships that have some extraordinary cigar lounges...so check them out before booking. A lot of cruise lines will let you bring your own booze...2 liters of wine per passenger and I manage to bring my Drambuie aboard w/o having to worry about paying $6 to $8 for an ounce on the ship.

I don't eat at the buffets...ever! I only eat in the main dining rooms where you order your own meals that are cooked to order...on some ships they have in their buffets a cooked to order area for Belgian Waffles....omelettes....etc. Otherwise steer clear of the buffet area as you'll notice people put their hands in the bowls, pick their noses and then throw the serving utensils right back into the food. I caught one guy licking the serving utensil and then looked around to see if anyone saw him doing that and then put it back into the bowl. I walked over to him and told him I saw him and what he did and he tried to lie to me and I called the Kitchen Supervisor over to let him know what happened...all he did was replace the serving spoon. There are Purell dispensers around the buffet areas and most people won't even use them as they walk in and out of the area licking their fingers and then touching the food...disgusting. They wonder why the NoroVirus always seems to come aboard these ships...it's for this reason alone.

Don't be afraid to dine at the Speciality Restaurants....amazing quality of food there and you can order as much as you want...this is where I get my "food on" at the steakhouses and I order the biggest Rib Eye and lobster tails...some nights I ordered 3 lobster tails as they are really good.

Going on this cruise in a couple days... Any other cigar shops in the Bahamas other than Graycliff? I am hoping to go to Graycliff while we are there but know how the Bahamas are known for the fake CC. Didn't know if any shops have opened recently that would be worth a shot?

Hey brother...I would just hit Graycliff. FYI, they're closed on Sundays (so I couldn't go). Buying cigars anywhere else around there, IMO, is a crapshoot. It's kind of sketchy at best...my $.02, YMMV. Have a great trip! (y)
