Well boys, I'm gonna be away from the Interweb for a week...dunno how I'm gonna survive without it.

Oh wait, yes I do:

You can almost see the cabin I'm staying at in the pic...it's right on the edge of the Colorado river, on the left side of the pic, just to the right of the bridge. If you follow the road to the bottom of the pic, right outside the frame of the picture is the entrance to Arches National Park, one of my very favorite places on the entire planet Earth. Truly beautiful place.

I'll be out to the south of town (top of the pic, towards the mountains) Jeepin' all week long. It's the annual Easter Jeep Safari event, biggest Jeep 4-wheelin event in the country. It's like the "Sturgis Bike Week" of the Jeep world...tens of thousands of people converge on the little town of Moab every year for this event. Gonna be a hoot!

We're leaving on Sunday--can't wait to pack the bags up and get out of the city!

I was born and raised in southern Utah. I used to go deer hunting in that area, there are some monsters over there, and probably some of the best (if not the best) rock crawling trails in the country.

It is beautiful country down there, if you ever get a chance, head west a little over to Bryce Canyon and/or Zion National Park.

Yep, Moab offers some of the very best 4x4 rock crawling in the country. There are many other places that are awesome too, but none are quite as alien as Moab, and very few have the spectacular panoramic views. It's breathtaking country.

I have always wanted to go to Bryce and Zion, but for hiking, not Jeeping. And unfortunately, our vacation isn't long enough to squeeze everything in at once. But I do plan to go to those areas someday!

Very nice Duane. Hope you have the time of your life....and a safe time at that. The pictures should be spectacular.

Have a great time. Its beautiful country. I spent a lot of time out there in the boonies when I was in college at Flagstaff.
