Brian, I don't know what you were checking, but if you are seriously looking for a Vizsla, contact your local Vizsla Club (info below). It's the best possible way of locating a good breeder. Most good breeders aren't really out there advertising.

A word about Vizslas. They are incredibly smart, very "close" dogs (nickname is "velcro dogs") and highly active dogs. They'll couch potato with the best of them when they are tired and once they get a bit older and mellow out, but they've got a TON of energy that needs a regular (daily when young) outlet. If you start thinking seriously about it, feel free to shoot me a PM to discuss.

Thanks everyone! I'll hopefully be posting more pics up over the next two weekends as I have two more Hunt Test weekends coming up.

GolfNut, I don't do any "real" hunting with them. I might some day, but this is more about getting them out and using their instincts and having fun. There is just something about a bird dog on point. It's a beautiful thing. It's also funny how fast and far real life hunting and AKC hunt tests/field trials can diverge. I've heard more than one person involved in trials state that they no longer hunt with their dogs because "it messes them up for the field". Boggles the mind.
I fully agree, it is a beautiful thing! Our male Eddie, actually comes from Field trial stock, and it was our intention to trial him when we got him. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned in that realm and we didn't get into it at all, but he is a great bird dog!

Yeah, I just can't get all that interested in the whole Field Trial side of things. Hunt Tests are fine, because the dog is only competing against a "standard". When it moves to Trials and it's about who's the best according to the judges, I'm just not interested. Of course I say this now, give me a winning dog and that might change, lol. But seriously, considering the money involved (entrance fees) and the politics and the fact that my dog could be hunting just fine but not be what the judge thinks is best and I think it would be way too aggravating.
