Granddaughter Heart Surgery

Great news that she is out of surgery.

Being young makes a huge dif in recovery. I have had 3 open heart surgeries and the first was a lot easier to recover from.

I recommend she listen to her surgeon and cardiologist and do what they say (almost) no questions asked.

So just some info of what was done today. Every baby is born with and extra valve in the heart. Most grow closed within two days Savannahs stayed open. So this caused to much blood to go to her lungs and not enough to the body. She is 16 months old so they wanted to do it now before the cold weather set in. The went from the groin through a vien to the heart. Then once in the heart they inserted a plug to close the valve. I was a nervous Papa to say the least she is so young for such a surgery. However, with the miracles of modern surgery and skilled doctors it was done. Plus with the prayers from my brothers here.
