Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes guys. It has been a tough day. A lot you guys know that I got sober about eight years ago, and right before then, that dog was the only living thing on earth that still wanted to be around me. She was the only one who would get up 4;00 AM to get the smoker going. And when she saw me open my humidor she would get up and head to the back door to go outside with me. Thanks again guys.

That's tough man. My condolences, sounds like you did the right thing. It's never easy, and at least you got to have some final McDonald's with her!

Sorry for your loss, I have one we need to start thinking about in the next few years, I'm gonna be pretty torn up for a while over him. I feel your pain!

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend. I've been through this 4 times, so believe me when I say that I know your pain. Though it is so hard right now, try to remember the good times you two shared. Your dear friend would want you to do that.

So sorry to hear about your loss brother, but just from reading your post I'm certain you made the right decision.

...sorry for the delay in posting, my dog just came cruising by and I had to stop to give him a hug.

My thoughts are with you.

I can empathize with you brother and offer my condolences. As others have said, you have taken away her pain and she is now at peace. It will take some time to get over the void and you will, at times, remember the good times you had with her. I will remember you and the family in prayer during this time of sorrow.
