I had to put my dog to sleep two weeks ago. Hurt like hell, but it was the right move. You did the right thing. One day you will be together again across the rainbow bridge. Sleep well, faithful friend.

Sorry to hear that, Cliff...I know how it feels...hadda put one of my cats down several years ago that outlasted all of my wives (3 wives and cat was 17)...it's really rough as they become part of the family...my condolences...

Pretty sad indeed. He was just getting too old, his hips were always giving out on him, and there was a large mass on his side. It is very sad to see a dog that used to be so energetic and now he just sleeps all the time. So it was his time... May my yellow lab and smoking buddy RIP
