Dude that would be so cool. I've been in a couple forest towers around here and you can see for miles and miles. A very nice view. Needless to say, I hope they compensated ya'll well.....Just think some people get paid to do that shit :halfgrinw
Didn't think they even did that any more. I sat tower in the Coconino forest of Northern Arizona in the 70's during the summer one year. Was great.I have been around Lightning most of my Fire Fighting career. I did spend one summer as a Fire Look Out. (this was a real trip during a lightning storm) we would stay in the tower during a storm. Sit in a chair with insulators on the legs of the chair. We would tell the dispatch office where and how far the storm was headed and the track lightning on a map and the see if it produced any fires after the lightning went through. When the storm got one mile away from the Look Out Tower we would tell dispatch the tower was out of service, Shut off all gas, elc, close the tower shutters and sit in the middle of the room on a chair with these insulated legs (it was a really scary time and a few pair of dirty shorts). Then when the storm would pass, we would tell dispatch the tower was back in operation and start looking for fires out in the woods......Just think some people get paid to do that shit :halfgrinw
