I've been lurking for several months and just realized that I have not post my introduction message.
I live in Columbus (Ohio) and have been smoking since the '80s and have always had a small humidor with 25 - 40 cigars in it at any one time. About 2 years ago I ramped up my participation in this wonderful hobby and started reading everything I could get my hands on. It has been an awesome experience.
I set up a wineador last year and have been tinkering around with it since then. I spend a lot of time on forums because I believe I can get great information directly from consumers like me, without the promotional double-speak in most of the published material.
I did my stint on the devil's site and got some really good stuff there, but I finally got it under control and only go back occasionally to look for deals on sticks that I like. I still like that site and believe is has a benefit to the hobby. I order online quite a bit but still go to my local B&Ms on occasion (usually Winter). The B&M scene here is not what you would expect for a city with over 1M people, but there are some good ones that I frequent.
My tastes lean toward maduros and higher-end flavor bombs, but I have my collection of yard-gars too.
I don't have too many buddies that smoke, so I will keep an eye out for local herfs and would love to meet up with some S/BOTLs and talk about the industry.
As I said, I've been reading a lot on this site and I hope I will fit in well around here.
