Hello BOTLs/SOTLs

I am new to this forum but have been around on another forum for a while now. I have always enjoyed cigars on special occasions, but i have been absolutely hooked since my wife made her biggest mistake and got me my first humi for Christmas. now I have 4 desktops and am in the middle of a New Air AW-280e wineador build. For the most part I enjoy Full bodied and very complex stick and the occasional forbidden treasure from ISOM (but i am just now venturing into into the dark side).

I just got married last year to an awesome woman who is finally starting to accept that i am hopelessly addicted to cigars, I have a teenage step daughter, and We just had a Baby 10 weeks ago.

I work in the sales office for a table grape grower learning the ropes and making my way up the ladder in the AG industry. If anyone is in AG i would love to hear some old war stories.

I look forward to seeing how this forum works out and catching up with some old BOTLs who have made the exodus over here.

welcome from Michigan and congrats on the new addition! Lot of new, or newer, dads around here including myself with 7 month old and 2.5 year old and another brother who just had twins less than 24 hours ago.

It isn't always about cigars, but that what keeps us together. A common bond if you will:)

Hope you enjoy, this place is a lot of fun!

I think you'll find this place much more pleasing than the 4th reich over there....
So tell us some more about these flavored grapes (cotton candy and whatnot) scam or are they as good as they sound....?

Welcome from Central Cal. I am not directly in the dirt anymore but I do work for a place that supplies the farmers with water. You manage to keep your grapes alive this year down there? Bet it was tough or at the very least expensive.

Hey @sullen nice to see you over here. All I hope is that this site is more reliable. As far as the "Cotton Candy" well I am Biased and well have nothing good to say about them. They are a gimmick but yes they do have a flavor that resembles cotton candy however that flavor is not consistent throughout a bunch and IMO it is a horrible grape. I like grapes that taste like grapes, that are refreshing and that you can eat a whole bunch without getting a stomach ache..... but by all means go and try a few if you get a chance I know that T.M. Kovacevich in Hunts Point Produce market has them in stock because they had half a truck load when they picked up from our storage. They should be a little more affordable there. I know at the one local store that sells them sells them for $10/lb which I am sorry I would never pay for grapes

Oh water... that is a sore subject, since we got 0% of our municipal allotment. Lucky for us last year we retrofitted and lowered all of our wells so we had enough to salvage the season however it did take a toll on our overall quality and volume. I would say that as of right now we are behind last year by about 150,000 cases

Wow not the best subject up here either. That was either foresight or extremely good luck to get those wells done. We had wells running dry everywhere here this summer and with a 6 month (at best) waiting list for a drill rig I heard of people offering $20k in cash to be put at the front of the line. Which compared to losing an orchard is cheap. Hope for rain is all we can do. And again welcome.
