Moro- I am currently working my way through a lovely bottle of Aberlour Double-Cask 12yr, and I must say it is quite delicious. However, if someone were to hand me a Macallan's 18yr, I wouldn't argue with it :) As for go-to's, I would have to say Ashton Classics are my first choice... otherwise its whatever i find on the cheap that has good construction and a spicy scent :glassesgr

oldglory- I am also President of a group called The Burke Society. Given your singnature quotes, I think you might find them interesting

If you haven't tried them yet, I would highly recommend Highland Park 12 and The Balvenie Doublewood 12. Although I think the Balvenie is the best one I've had, the HP 12 is the best value for the money @ $40 a 5th.

Oddly enough, even though I do enjoy a good scotch I've yet to find a good pairing with a cigar. I guess I'll just stick to by bourbon and rum!:stretchgr

Oh, and go team college Brothers! (I think Moro started a college group for BOTL, you should ask him about it!)

Isn't that what the Zs and 7s at UVA are for?

I considered starting something similar at my university but concluded that a club for "enjoying the finer things in life" was entirely too pretentious.

Welcome and good luck.
