Help With a CC Identification

Had a fake CC that had a cuban newspaper as a binder and hair and dirt inside.... don't smoke fakes. Ever.

If that was a genuine cuban cigar, as others have said, that's a brand new band. The only Montecristos that have come out with the new band are the Double Edmundo (which your cigar is not) and the Petit No. 2. The Petit No. 2 is 4.7" long... the cigar you have looks like a traditional #2 length.

I personally do not know of anybody getting Montecristo cigars other than the 2 listed above with the new band. Either your guy has access to brand new Monte's direct from Cuba, or those are fake... you make the call.

Edit: I also have not heard from anyone who has recently been to Cuba that they have seen the new bands on the regular Montecristo cigars.

I have a box of legit Monte 4s that have the new embossed gold band. They came from one of the better sources who are a habanos sa regional distributor. Just an FYI to add to the list of legit sticks with the band.

EDIT: The bands on the 4s are embosed, but no gold. I misremembered and wanted to clarify... Doh!

I called my LCDH lifeline overseas, and he has not seen anything other than the two spoken of above with the new band. Not that it couldn't happen, but he normally sees the first releases heading to the EMS. The pedigree on your stick isn't looking very good. Sorry, chief... PM sent.
