The Core line has been my favorite by far. I have smoked about 5 or 6 churchills and they have been medium to full, complex, and satisfying. I smoked one of the torpedos and it was also good, but I preferred the Churchill.

Erny gave Tim Podwika, Johnny Brooke and I a maduro, but were advised to wait a month before we smoke them. I'm looking forward to it, but forgot the capa origin.

Was wondering who remembers whether the capa on the Core line is Brazil Habano, Ecuador Habano or Ecuador Sumatra ...

Best,
JD

Hey JD the capa is from Ecuador. I believe Ernie said it was Sumatra when we were with him Tuesday.

Wait till you try the Core Line Maduro :)

The main issue for not getting the other cigars is the price point. The New Waves are only about $6 each for the Churchills. It was difficult finding any preview reviews so I took the word of a friend who's tasted one.
The same friend tried the Elenco and said it was fantastic. These go for around $14 each.

I just looked up the Core Line and discovered they are more affordable than I thought. Average price is $8 each

I picked up a signed box of the 2010 Short Run Populares on CigarAuctioneer.com and they are fantastic. Very consistent & always a great burning cigar. They are one of my favorite sticks from 2010. Think I paid around $150 for the box of 24. What a steal!

I smoked the Core line churchill this weekend and have to agree with JD, but I prefer the smaller sizes.

Sounds like his sticks are getting better and better and I already liked them. Time to clear out some room.

After all this EPC talk I had to break into my stash at the cigar club and enjoy one after my lunch.

It didn't disappoint. =)

So I have missed these altogether....and am looking for some info on them...

What are the blends? I've seen short, core, etc...are these the same cigar or just different sizes?
What is the take on them, any to avoid?
Are any HTF? Or all reg production?

Thanks...
I just bought a box of his latest: New Wave. Supposed to be mild-med.
And half the price of the Elencos. $126 for the Churchills (20). Should be here on Thursday the 1st
