Just topped 85 here for the first time all year. Supposed to be 90 tomorrow. Of course, living in WA state, most folks don't have a/c. I just sit on the deck with a misting system and drink cold beer. Good luck on getting it fixed! Soon!
i used to live on whidbey island...some of the best temps ever...never knew what ac was.

Hopefully you found a way to keep cool. My air has been running non-stop so I guess my next energy bill is going to really blow the bank!!

Hang in there BF. Cooler temps and chance of rain heading into the East Coast over the next few days.

Best to you on your AC repair. Just had an AC unit go out at a rental property and the repair man found it was a disconnect failed at the unit. He wanted $400 for the replace/repair. Told him to take a hike. Went to Home Depot bought the disconnect and fixed it for $14. Bad thing about that, it is not tax deductable since I did it myself, at least the $70 will be.

I was stupid to not have checked that (checked only the main breaker, capacitors, etc.) before spending $70 for him to come out and find it.
Oh contraire...anything you put into a rental is tax deductible which includes the $14 parts. If you buy a light bulb, shampoo the carpets, pretty much anything. The same goes for your primary dwelling...save up all your receipts for anything that you do to the property and if you ever sell it you can deduct from the Capital Gain. Most people do not do this because it's all about record keeping and saving receipts. We have a condo in San Diego and I travel there twice a year and get to write off the airline ticket, hotel, food and rental car expense which helps on our overall taxes. Had I been smarter I should have bought a place in Hawaii or Virgin Islands as I'd be there 4 times a year making sure the ice maker in the fridge was working properly.:stretchgr
