my wine coolers literally never drop below 65 degrees so there is really no way for any beetles to hatch therefore i don't freeze my cigars. I will quarantine them though for a week just to prevent any immediate outbreaks.

Well I just ordered a box from new havanna cigars and am wondering if I should freeze these when I get them. We are reaching 100 plus here in Dallas and I sure these things will be cooking once I get them.

I sent a PM to Pete, (Tatuaje) asking him if he new any process other than temperature the growers or manufacturers use to prevent critters. I'm hoping he'll respond.

I say quarantine the cigars for at least 3 months.. Put them in tupperware or a seperate humidor. From what I understand, even one day in hot weather can wake up the eggs. Once they are active, they will still hatch even at temps in the 60's.

couldn't you just keep them in the ziploc bag and place them in your humi? After a couple weeks if they are ok then migrate them out of the bag into the regular rotation. The beetles, if they hatch, should stick with the tobacco and not the plastic. I'm not sure on this one, but it seems logical to me.
