BTW, thanks for dredging this up Allan. I hate you for it, but it's good to look at. Here's my question. WTF, (F in MAJOR CAPS!) does all my GD disposable income go? I mean there aint a ton of it, but damn!

I try not to budget things too much, takes up too much time. Like David, if I get into financial trouble, I will sell the house that has risen substantially in price since buying mid 2000.

We don't budget, and honestly I just can't get my mind around how to do so. I'd need to be able to section off my bank account into a bunch of them or something. All I know, is with the basic numbers I used, without having the exact dollar amounts to throw in, I should have a heck of alot more money in my savings account than I now do. Of course, it was all used considering the fact that I just consolidated almost all my debt so maybe I'll see that money start to build up as the months start to pass...

You're welcome..I'm still in shock....Maybe I can get a job at Walmart to supplement my income(those that know me should laugh now)...

Hell, even if I did get some kind of retail job on the weekend...what will I bring in ? 60 bucks? And then have no weekend...no thank you.

I have been living a little light for a long time. Not so light that I can't buy smokes. :smokingme My income will quadruple in about a month and a half and things still will be tight. New house, now I have to pay off school loans and I owe the man alot of money this year, ALOT! I love our current tax system. :argh:

My wife is an accountant, she has an excel spreedsheet very similar to that one. Thank god she enjoys doing it, I definitely wouldn't stay on top of it. But it does help.

Acutally using that spreadsheet it boils down to ...

My big expenses are living and eating in Manhattan. (Do not under estimate these costs!)

On the other side, I have good medical coverage, disability, and a TDA.

And for bonus point, I don't have a car, nor children, nor ex-wives. Ka-ching.

Macanudos just got upgraded to Astons!

I have never worked with a budget. I try to base my normal expenses on a average months pay. Some months it is tight. Some months it is easy.

T-bones or hot dogs. I just love being a salesman.

I need to be a little more structured. I think I am going to use that sheet as a base and adjust it as I see fit.

I like the principle behind the whole budget thing... But it is kinda hard when you live table to table or tip to tip....

Some people bitch about living paycheck to paycheck but table to table is ten times worse that I swear...

It just makes it hard to budget when you have no freakin clue how much you are going to bring in on a given night...

My two kids move dout last week. That should free up some cash for me.
You would think it would, huh? "Daddy, my car broke down, Daddy, I'm a little short on rent... How short? All of it." :grin"

My daughter tried to get me to buy her movie ticket the other night when we all went to the theatre. I told her by me doing that , I would be undermining her freedom and independence. And that afterall was one of the things she felt she needed.

It was funny when she was bitching about her brother not paying his share and so therefore she did not have the money to go out and do some things that weekend........"Aint that a bitch" was my reply. Been dealing with that for years.

The big hand of reality has smacked them in the face.
