I got lucky over christmas and found a local B&M that was opening a new location and broke out a box of Dracs they had stashed away. They were selling them for $13 so I picked up 3 of them. I smoked one right away and didn't really like it. Granted, it was pretty wet and that probably affected the taste. Should have let it sit for a bit but I couldn't wait. The other 2 have been sitting in my humidor for the last 4 months.

So any word on how the Dracs are smoking now? I know everyone says to try the stuff you put away every so often to check the progress but with only 2 of them left, I wanted to see what people thought on here first before I decide if I want to burn one of them.

I would tell you that they are better than they were, however if you have the time it would be worth the effort to bury them a while longer. IMO

I smoke one once in a while, and they are def. getting better. I would wait a bit longer since you only have 2...

Had one two months ago––tasted sick. No muted flavors in mine––just loads of bitterness and ammonia. I'll have another in October and see how they're doing....

definitely not at all that much ammonia or bitterness in mine. I think they just need a bit of time for all the flavors to come together. when they hit the 1 year mark I will smoke another, and I think they will be fine by then!

it's strange because the very first one i had back in november was as you describe yours, which is why i was surprised at how bad the one i had back in february was....

I was very disappointed 3 weeks ago when I sparked one. It became VERY spongy and was plugged for the first half. Once it opened up, 2nd half, it smoked great until the last 1/3. At this point it became to hot and spongy to smoke. I had to put it out.

I've got 3 more in the humidor, along with the Boris, that I will age for a while longer. I will likely smoke it, along with the Boris, when the "Face" is released to compare all of them.

Hoping they get better! :dunno:

I smoked one about 2 weeks ago and while it was better than the last i agree that these need more time. I would sat in another year they will start to shine. I just recently bought 10 singles off someone and they were in cellophane. Pete told me they were the ones that were given out for the monster contest screw up. I have to say that it was much better than the ones i have smoked in my coffins. I don't know if it was because in my head i was thinking " man these are from pete's stash " or if they were better because they have been sitting outside the coffin in cellophane But they were indeed better...
