:welcome:
Here's my .02:
1.) You might as well forget checking out other forum's, theres none like BOTL.
2.) Don't expect anyone here to point you in the direction of the go-to smoke; it can only be decided by you through trial and error.
3.) Don't grow impatient whilst learning about and trying to identify different flavors, etc. in cigars. I've been enjoying cigars for almost three years and I am just (within the last few months) learning to appreciate them. I am still baffled when it comes to identifying distinct flavors in cigars (when doing reviews, etc.) but I know this will result in one of two things: I will find that I am simply unable to detect those flavors or my palate is just not developed enough yet. Either way, I enjoy some good cigars for what they're worth and enjoy the moments around the cigar. I'm coming to find that the cigar is just a device. Basically, just be patient and enjoy what you like at the moment, and expect that to change.
4.) Don't judge a cigar by it's band or price tag; I've enjoyed one or two $3 smokes more than some $15 smokes. It's not common, but it's happened. Furthermore, don't judge a line by your first cigar in that line, cigars are fallible; don't pass judgement until you've proven your case through at least three cigars.
5.) Don't form your opinion of a line, brand, blend, vitola, etc. of cigar based on the opinion of other people. At the end of the day you are smoking your cigars, nobody else.
6.) "Public Service", occasionally have to travel for work, swat253.... I'm onto you
enjoy your stay!
