A lot of it is semantics. Tatuaje Tubos are "Limited," i.e. there were only a certain number made. Now, the numbers were fairly large (40-50k I think), but once they're gone, they're gone. However, you can find them all over right now, so I'd certainly not call them HTF or even rare. In two years they may be, but not now.

The Liga Privadas are tougher to define. They are not limited, but there are only a certain number of boxes released (based on crop yields), and there are relatively few B&Ms and even online shops who carry them. They also sell out of each sku every quarter, according to Steve Saka. As such, they are often "out of stock." I remember this happening with the Oliva V for a while after their huge CA rating, but it happens with Liga Privada continually. Rumor has it that next year's supply of #9s will be less due to some crops being damaged. So while I'd not call them HTF or rare, they are definitely harder to get ahold of than many regular production sticks.

But Liga Privada is not pulling a Nintendo Wii ... i.e. intentionally producing scarcity in order to build hype, etc. Viaje, however, is very guilty of this, imvho.

HTF has definitely changed in meaning. I remember when Opus and Anejo would fly when brought out for sale now they just sit.
