The NOLA evacuues headed for houston and now another hurricane is heading for houston.. It must be chasing them

I've got the tubs and sinks filled for utility water (toilet,etc) and a big cooler full of faucet water for drinking. I'm eating all the frozen dinners, cold foods today and tommorrow to preserve my dry foods. And I got all my cigars with me, the humicab is in a secure closet and my NC's can float in the cooler if necessary. I think I'm ready :thumbsup:

Man, I just got done with a mini block party. Every neighbor still here tried to leave but said fuck it after waiting 10-14 hours in traffic. Gas is hard to find, even as far as San Antonio.

Man that sucks about the gas... *sigh* I remember waiting 3 hours in line for gas 2 days in a row.

Wind has picked up a tad so far and no rain yet.

Not much new has happened. Sun is still out and winds have been about a constant 30mph. Here's a projected wind timeline for my area.

6 pm Start tropical force winds
1 am Gael force winds
6 am Near hurricane force winds
1 pm Tropical force winds

About 16 hours of at least tropical force winds and up to 8" rain.

Where'd all the action go? No rain yet and the winds have subdued some. Sat TV still up w/o interference.

I'm still here as well. Looks like we're not going to get anything like CNN tried to scare us with the other night. I've got 40+ breeders parrots that I decided to stay with untill it got to be me or them kind of situation. I got them all in the house. I have plenty of propane and proplane accessories, ice, beer, water and plenty of cigars. I think I'll go heat up a microwave dinner while I can.

took a nap, shower and phoned friends that left to see where everyone was at. a few of them turned around after not going anywhere in traffic and are going to ride it out.

I might take another one so I can stay up all night.

Power still on, Sat TV buffering every few seconds, cable up (was down for a little while), not much rain and some very gusty and continous winds.
