I do once or twice a cigar, however, I do not want to totally kill my taste buds because I love food too much.

the first time I retrohaled, it was cathartic. no point in smoking a gar otherwise.

tip: if you're new to retrohaling, the longer the stick the better (think lancero). the cooler the smoke, regardless of blend, the easier to retro. if you plan on retrohaling a spice bomb, bring tissues.
Longer and cooler, absolutely. If your nose is going to get singed, it should be because of spice (tobacco), not heat (temp).

I try to retro 1-2 times every cigar but even the smallest amount feels like a jet on afterburner going through my nose, even the mild like cao gold carona. but i still try.
Keep going, it gets easier. What helped me was starting at the tail end, when all the smoke is practically gone. You will still get the tail of the flavor. Then work your way closer to the front of the smoke after a few weeks of doing that. It just takes time and practice.

Make sure you're not pulling to hard or smoking to fast.

Thanks brother! And that was without any wax in it or having shaved for a few days. I was going to keep it only for Movember but I really like it so it's staying.
Put down the scissors and slowly walk away..... I just ordered some stuff from this place

Ok, back to our normally scheduled posts, sorry for high jacking.

I'll continue the threadjack for a couple of more sentences... GRIN

I typically use Fisticuffs wax but my in-laws but me a bunch of waxes from "Man's Face Stuff" (https://www.etsy.com/shop/MansFaceStuff?ref=shop_sugg) I like it, but it's a very stiff wax so you really need to soften it up and apply several small amounts instead of a larger amount at once. Otherwise you can pull hairs out.

I've seen the stuff from Portland Beard Company before - almost bought some beard oil until I learned that beard oil is pretty much the same as preshave oil. So I just use that instead

Thanks to this thread i am slowly working my way up to a full retro, can hardly see any smoke comming out but still openning my eyes to some new flavors from the cigars without breathing liquid fire. Thanks!

Very short, easy puffs may open these "retrohaled" flavors up in ways you did not think possible.

I mean, very gentle puffs (adjust to your preference) which are entirely retrohaled ...
Just did this with an aged Opus Joel. Worked very very well. Thank you
