Kelly it has been to long, I can not help you with the cigars but I hope you back for a while.
Or a knock off, which generally have many of the profile/characteristics since they were made on the island...maybe a regular production Cohiba with a (fake) "Reserva" band to try to make more money?
Just glad I messed up on a couple and not a box full. I figured since the owners were not americian that they might have had a nice source from home. Never thought I'd have to go and detail inspect my friggin cigar. Well live and learn.Welcome back.
Extra cut thru on top and bottom of the C. Xtra black band on top of fake on reg band. Only reserva I know of and touched is a 03. But then again I don't buy boxes of 1200 dollar cigars. (at release)You were around for awhile, didn't you have the knowledge to not buy stateside brother?
For this question I always say bring it up? Of course. Accuse? No. THAT can ruin a relationship. Show them the evidence and not in front of a buncha people and all should be fine. Here Is what Gar is talking about,
View attachment 28254 cohiba on the right is a real cohiba robusto
So my next problem is, I have one other cigar bought from the same place. I have become friends with the cigar shop owners and chat quite a bit. Should I tell them they are selling fakes? If so I might be asked to leave and not return. Either they have no idea they are selling fakes of they do and don't care.
I definitely understand what you are saying. But what are the chances these people are blindly selling crappy fakes? If an American business is going to do something illegal such as selling "cuban" cigars, don't you think they would do a little research and know what they are doing? I would guess they at least have a good idea they are fake and if true, them selling me a fake would ruin that relationship. F them... But like you said, no need to go in guns blazing, tread lightly at first to get their reaction and response then go forward accordingly. And just like Tom said, they sold me a $20 who the hell knows what, I would be pissed too.For this question I always say bring it up? Of course. Accuse? No. THAT can ruin a relationship. Show them the evidence and not in front of a buncha people and all should be fine.
Actually, it looks as though the band is fake as well. The line that extends downward from the cursive C on Cuba should not extend to the bottom of the band.yeah, this pisser is they have the taste profile and quality of a Cohiba, the Cohiba band is authentic, just have never seen the secondary band.
