I've been there and if they would just give a good price point without the deception yes the cuban counterfeits are generally still good cigars. If they tasted good with that cuban "twang", then so what if they are fake? You enjoyed them and that's all that really matters, right?
So you didn't say anything to them and are still going to the shop like nothing happened?I agree, but then I tried a Partagas LE200 and a monti #2 I had gotten before I realized the fake issue. Yeah those two were cheap assed knock offs not even a hint of the Cuban Twang! So I decided to keep going to the shop but I can no longer purchase their Cuban selection unless I have my laptop and run the box code first.
All that matters??? He got lied to and sold something other than what he thought he was buying. I just don't get this philosophy from the people that say this... I can understand you saying this if he knowingly bought these cigars where the owner said something like, "hey, here's some cigars that have fake cuban cigar bands on them. I think they might be real cuban tobacco, but I have no clue what they really are or where they came from. I'll give you a deal to try them, what do you say?"If they tasted good with that cuban "twang", then so what if they are fake? You enjoyed them and that's all that really matters, right?
If I honestly was in the business and selling cigars and were selling cigars that I thought were real, but were fakes, I'd want to know. If they truly don't know then you could be saving them from buying fakes in the future. I think you should say something, just remain respectful and their friend.Yeah, that and If the owners really didn't know they were selling fakes, I'd make them look and feel like complete stupid jackasses, and I don't want to do that to them.
