Warmest Greetings from New Mexico. I live in Albuquerque where I have been buying cigars from three generations of the Monte family for over thirty years. The selection and inventory is beyond amazing. An electronic key fob let's members pass through an inner door or from directly outside to our private cigar club, spread out over three floors, Club La Gloria Cubana.
I'm a native New Mexican as are both sides of my family since the mid-sixteen hundreds. My introduction to cigars began right after I turned 21 and happened to walk into Georgetown Pipe & Tobacco near the corner of Wisconsin and M Street in Georgetown where I was going to school.
As I recall it, the shop was never real busy in those days (circa 1971), and there was a regiment of elderly, articulate, and elegant gentlemen employed there who were always at the ready to share all of their accumulated, aggregated cigar wisdom with this youngster who began popping in more regularly. I'm sure they wanted to make me a life-long cigar connoisseur. They succeeded
I began to expand my palate and read all I could find about cigars. They are a true passion for me. I must now have over 50 boxes aging in a 40 cubic foot humidor that I'm currently keeping at the cigar club. I have smaller humidors at my office and at my home.
Today I am married 20 years with three teen-aged daughters, all in high school. All my family before me, all my brothers and I, and all my children are very active in performing music. Jazz, Classical, Funk, R&B, etc. I am a criminal defense trial attorney and have been one since 1974. If interested in my professional biography (and if that is allowed by this group), please google me.
I am very happy to be welcomed into this group. Everywhere I go, I meet cigar smokers who are kind and warm people. It will be a great pleasure to get to know you. Thank. David C. Serna
