I keep a small date book where I keep track of what I smoke everyday. I put in notes and my rating of the stick and tape the band on the date I smoked it. I just started it this year but so far I have kept up.

I used to keep a log, but ended up losing it on a dead hard drive. It was rather disheartening, as it was kept from first serious cigar that I smoked. I SHOULD start another in Google Docs.

Too much work, I just smoke, and enjoy my time, and I have a very good memory when it comes to what I have in my humys. I tried to use that app, but in the end I would forget to add or subtract smokes and it got to be a PITA.

I have mobile stogie I use it mostly to keep track of what's in my humidor but there is a lot that the auther has to add to the database before it's a perfect app... I have ordered a cigar journal waiting for it to get here and I am going to place all the bands I have saved of the worthy cigars and make a few notes as to my impressions. I like the idea of being able to flip through a book and see the collection of cigar bands to me the bands are kinda like the prize in a cracker Jack box.

Yeah I've got it all on an excel (actually "numbers" cause it's on a mac) spreadsheet. For certain smokes I like knowing the box code they came from.

Woah! You guys are far too obsessive for me!!! :)

Of course I kid... Over the years, the initial notebook that I started off with kind of faded, in the sense that I started to write in it less and less.

But this Mobile Stogie app just rocks. There are still a lot of issues with it... but as the updates come, it will turn into a stunning app.

Jsmith, you make a very valid point. However, part of the fun for me IS the detail... which is why, for example, I date all my bands. I have to admit, though, with time and age, I tend to slack a little.

Now who was that talking about excel spreadsheets?!?!? I agree with everyone.. you need help... Just email me the spreadsheets before they take you away, ok? :)

I guess I'm part of the OCD group as well. I just made a spreadsheet to keep my notes. I will use it mainly to keep track of cigars which I like and those that I don't, especially when it comes to buying the same sticks in the future. As someone in a previous post mentioned, there are over 1,400 brands of cigars worldwide - my memory isn't good enough to keep track of them all!

Na - if you were truly obsessive compulsive you would have said CDO - so no worries ~:0)

Wouldn't you like to know?
I guess it also depends on how much you smoke. Writing that novel would have detracted from my time in Havana last week. Pretty cool idea if you smoke a cigar a day or less. Way to much work if you smoke alot.

Actually, Aaron, you are very right.

I smoke about 5-6 sticks a week... More when I'm golfing, and much much more when I'm having a good day at golf, but that's another story! :stretchgr

But even when I smoke a lot more, I'm still obsessive about writing down my notes... They tend to be a lot sparser than they used to be... but they're there.

However, for those anal (not those whose girlfriends are INTO anal...) people, there are two apps that I find very useful. Mobile Stogie, I already mentioned.

The other is a journaling app for the Macintosh, called MacJournal. Very good for keeping notes, and has an auto back up feature too!

:)

Smoke away folks..
