It wouldn't bother me as long as it wasn't a multi-level or similar business. But then again...the guys that run the site are the final arbiters in that regard

I say don't do it because I like your Sterling Archer quote. In all seriousness, I think this could set a bad precedent.

I once posted an buddy of mine's website in my sig line. He is an artist and has nothing to do with cigars or tobacco and I was asked to remove it.

I agree, if it's obvious that it's not first-and-foremost why you're here.

I put my business' logo in my avatar pic, but that's as much for a lack of knowing what else to put there as anything, heh...

I think once you are a contributing member and clearly show you are here for other reasons besides promoting your business it should be fine.

And to be clear, I was probably sitting with over a year on the board, and 5000 posts, and several trades..etc. Make it your avatar, I would like to know what you do.

I tend to think that there is nothing wrong sharing with your friends what you are doing; business or otherwise. But also feel a bit perturbed with the half post and click on this link to read the rest posts. But then again, ain't no one telling me I can't just ignore them and let those who do have an interest do as they please. As for those with the sole intent of creating business interest, they in my opinion should pay for advertising.
