...with the help of Dr. Z!

Dr Z. decided to bomb me a couple weeks ago, about the time I posted asking for suggestions for a cigar for my wife. She had expressed interest in trying one, so I wanted some suggestions. Well, Dr Z. was kind enough to include a bomb for her too. Great guy, huh?

Anyway, he sent me some great sticks, and for her, included a Acid Blondie and Kuba Kuba and a Oliva G Maduro robusto and figurado. A nice selection for a first timer.

So, last night my wife made some lasagne and we hosted my mother-in-law for dinner. My wife had me open a bottle of wine after dinner. She was the only one drinking the wine. So after my mother-in-law left, we cleaned up the kitchen. And, I poured the last of the bottle of wine for my wife. I then suggested that it was time for her to try her first cigar. We bundled up and I grabbed a couple cigars...the 5 Vegas "A" Churchill for me and selected the Acid Blondie for my wife. I poured myself some Ridgemont Reserve on the rocks and headed for the balcony.

Now, I totally expected my wife to light up and take a few puffs from her cigar and the put it down. But, to my surprise, she really liked the Acid Blondie. We puffed and talked and were having a great time. She smoked that cigar down to the nub. She said she enjoyed it and didn't want it to end since I was still smoking. Then, to my shock and surprise, she asked if she had another small cigar that she could smoke since I was only half way finished with my churchill. So, I went into grab her the Oliva G figurado. :cbig: She was also out of wine at that point. She had some Malibu rum but we were out of coke, so she wanted some A&W rootbeer to mix with it. (sounded aweful to me...)

So, we lit up the Oliva for her and right away, she tasted some chocolate. The figurado had a tight draw, so she had to work a bit. She didn't like the tight draw very much, but did like the cigar. She said she thought she enjoyed the Blondie more. As she smoked this one, she would comment about the different flavors she was picking up. Did I mention how much I lover her? :starrylov

As we were both nubbing our cigars, she said she wanted another one!!! :stretchgr :applause: So, I went to get her another cigar, the Oliva G Maduro robusto was up next for her and I got a La Gloria Cubana Series R #4 for myself. We poured her another drink and I poured myself some Knob Creek. She really enjoyed the robusto, it had an easier draw and was easier to smoke. She decided that she liked that one the best of the three. :glassesgr

So, for my wife's first experience, she chained smoked 3 different cigars and discovered her "new drink". The Malibu and Root beer sounds aweful, but turned out to be really good. Ha! And, she said that my "ass breath" isn't so bad when she as "ass breath" too.

I hope everyone else had a great Saturday night too...

LOL...thought I was reading a Penthouse Forum letter!

You're a lucky man to have your wife enjoy a cigar with you...mine hates the fact that I smoke and I'm sure I'm not alone in that regard. Happy Smoking to you both!

Thats awesome, I started my wife out with a reserva real corona just to give her something mild that wouldn't give her a bad taste. Well she hated it and wanted to try my cigar which was a Illusione MK that and she loved it. Recently I got her a Dirty Rat and she said it was one of the best she has had. Now I've got somebody else to worry about raiding my humdidor haha. Its great to able to share cigar smoking with the wife though.

I understand that its good to get new smokers. I am single at the moment, so my thought might be wrong. But isnt smoking cigars kinda like golf dont you married folk use it to get away from the wife?

Understandable...I've always heard that for a successful marriage, the husband and wife should have several mutual interests, but each should have at least one hobby that the other cares nothing about. So whether it's golf, smoking stogies, or going to the shooting range, a man should have one activity that he only shares with his buddies.

You'll also find though, as you get older, you'll wish that there were more things that you and your wife could share together, not less.

My wife is my best friend. She always sat with me and talked when I smoked on the balcony. So, she was curious about it and wanted to try it. I'm glad that we have something else we enjoy doing with each other. If I ever need space, I can get it.

Sounds like you really married the right gal!

There are times I wish the women I date would appreciate a cigar, but then I realize how expensive that could be :p

I think that my favorite part was that she didn't pick the acid as her favorite.

I'm on the verge of creating my own monster. My girlfriend loves my sticks when she try's them too; the last time I smoked with her I had a Serie O which she liked a lot. She says that she wants to go to the lounge with me and try a cigar all for herself.:awholelot
