Also make sure you have your boots laced up properly. This may seem like a no-brainer, but many people wear their footwear too loose or too tight. Too loose & you'll get cold air in your boots, too tight and you'll constrict blood flow to your feet & no amount of wool or whatever will keep them from getting cold.

All u need is Mickey boots by the us army. Discontinued by the army in the 90s.
no doubt those are the warmest boots I have ever worn in my life.. jfire is spot on saying they are NOT something you wear with super warm socks or do a whole lot of moving around in.. you will end up with sweaty feet.. even in sub zero temps..

theyre terribly uncomfortable to walk in for any distance as well (IMHO)..

but if you are just sitting around.. trying to enjoy a stick in the snow.. they kick ass.. and wont let you down..

Another vote for the smart wool. Also make sure your shoes aren't too tight. If they are there is no room for warm created by your feet to wrap your feet in said air it will be a chilly situation.

I also live in an area were it gets friggen ice cold at night so smoking becomes a mission. Here is what I did. I got a heater that connects to the propane. I light it and point it at my upper body I wear fur lined slippers over my socks to keep my feet warm. I also smoke smaller cigars. That seems to work ok.

All u need is Mickey boots by the us army. Discontinued by the army in the 90s. They're still available on eBay. Good to -30F. Make sure you do not wear heavy socks with them. Your feet will be HOT and WET. Trust me Nate they are a fix all for cold feet. I have fallen into 3 ft of water ice fishing (crossing streams) dumped them out and kept fishing with them wet and warm for another 12 hrs. They have 3" of merino inside 2 layers of rubber. 40 dollars on fleabay. They MUST say BETA boot company and have a US serial number listed on the inside of the boot. Or they're fake. Get the white ones not black. Buy one size smaller then your regular boot. I will gurantee my life on these boots.......

IF U GO THIS ROUTE GET PICS OF THE SERIAL NUMBERS......

Mickey boots saved my feet on MANY a cold night when I was in the Army. But I did use Sorels when I had to move around a lot.

Can't you smoke at the NCO clubs anymore? Man when I was stationed there in the winter that's where I'd hang out on my off duty hours for a smoke. You can also do the electric blanket bit with those little heater packs you can buy online. You just crumple the pack and the chemicals mix up and create heat. When I ice fish I throw one in each boot and it keeps my toes and feet really warm for a few hours and there cheap by the box.
