I'm not even really a BoSox fan, but this almost brought a tear to my eye. . . it's one thing to go somewhere for the money, but your team's biggest rival?!? Has he no shame?

I thought the same thing. Have some pride in the sport and in the clubhouses. :santa2:

I guess I just don't get the pride aspect of it. I look at it from a business standpoint. He's payed to play the game of baseball and be really good at it. No matter what team he plays for or will play for in the future

Okay so I read this on AOL Sports:

His agent, Scott Boras, said Boston didn't make its first proposal until early November, and it was for $27 million over three years.

"It was something that really changed his feelings about Boston," Boras said.

At the winter meetings, the Red Sox increased their offer to $40 million for four seasons. According to Damon, the Red Sox said it was their last offer and gave him until Christmas Eve to accept.

"Obviously I didn't really feel good about that," he said. "It didn't sit well with me."
