Yep. The average (and keep in mind any one on this site is not your average cigar smoker) American cigar smoker wants the next biggest thing. 8x80,etc. Even some of our beloved boutique brands are adding these sizes as this is what the market dictates. My guess is that the average American (probably male) cigar smoker sees a lancero or small cigar as dainty and feminine. They need to make up for their insecurity with a 13x100 size cigar. That way they can look at their "bros" and "dogs" and show off how cool they are.....
Obviously, this is just my opinion.... Lol
a little harsh, but fairly accurate. CI will target ht emiddle of the bell curve, where most of the buying power is at. as dread points out, the smaller rings are getting attention, but by and large we here, on this board, make up the far end of the smoking spectrum, very up to date or ahead of the market, and very picky.
or, to put it another way: sam's club/ costco carries ONE of something, in bulk, that being the best sellers. CI operates the same way.
just keep buying smaller rings, keep talking about smaller rings. your power as a consumer is actually making the stuff worthwhile to make for manufacturers. pick up an under 50 at every opportunity, if it is a good blend, and we can (and, to a lesser extent so far, are) change(ing) things.
