Have been seriously considering getting into a cotm Club myself.

Only ever been in 1, and it was 10 years ago, the now defunct Fuente/Newman Cigar Family Connoisseurs Club.

Recall always being pleased with what I received, but fuente has been my favorite nc marca since my first ever Cigar, a Short Story given by a coworkerin the oilfields, which began my journey into Cigars .

Can't really decide, as Privada, Nomad, and CFed all seem to be the most popular and getting the best opinions, and are all the same price.

The Cigars & Pipes COTM that @Frost gets seems like a pretty solid COTM club too.

Yeah I wasn’t too happy with this month. Hopefully I will be surprised bu a couple that I haven’t tried. I am exited about the Caldwell. Outside of that seems shallow.

I’m giving Smoke Inn one more month and then I’m moving on. Not sure who I’ll replace them with. Seems like I’ve burned through most of the clubs and have felt let down. Cigar and Pipes is the most solid on my opinion. Any suggestions gang?

Previously I’ve belonged to:
Cigars International (too much filler garbage)

Holts (too repetitive on the same brands over and over)

Privada (too many house blends and unbranded mystery cigars instead of rare and vintage stuff)

Small Batch (awesome at first but Davidoff overkill and too hit and miss for the high price)

Yeah, I almost went with small batch. I actually really like Privada. Agree on the specialty stuff but all of the cigars I have had I have really enjoyed. The farm rolled have been really good as well. But even though I am happy with Privada still not as impressed as cigar and pipes. Just great quality for the money.

I'm really stuck on deciding to join a cotm club.

There are just so many to choose from and from what i have seen here, most send smokes from various makers, except for a few cotm's offered by a maker themselves.

Most people seem pleased for the most part with their cotm of choice, but joining one that sends sticks from various makers makes me a little leary about liking what I get.

Would really prefer to have a cotm from a specific maker that I know I enjoy their offerings of. For example, back about 10 years ago I was a member of the Arturo Fuente/JC Newman Club because they were and still are, 2 of my favorite makers, so I always knew I would enjoy what I got.

Unfortunately the club is long gone.

Anyone able to provide a short list of makers with their own cotm?

Would be greatly appreciated as its difficult to find them in reading the thread since It is just so long.

I have also tried some Google searching, but it's been difficult to find what I'm looking for.

When I was growing up I had a stand-up placard that said:

”When in doubt, punt.”

From what I’m reading, there seems to be a good amount of doubt. If it were me, I’d punt. Instead of spending $30 to $50 or more per month on, hopefully, a few cigars I want to try, in the vitola I prefer, I would just buy singles or 5ers to fulfill my curiosity. Yah, you might miss out on a cigar or two that you might’ve never bought but find that you like them but will that be more the exception rather than the rule? My guess is that you’ll get more “Okay, tried it but wouldn’t buy them” smokes than “Damn! I found me a GEM!”

But, just mho and of course, ymmv. Good luck in whatever you decide.
