I have a surge and I absolutely love it. It's probably my favorite model unless you want a specialized Leatherman for some reason or another.

I went through a couple models of leathermans fighting forest fires back in the day and the pliers kept breaking. I bought a Gerber and still have it 11 years later.

Depends entirely on your application! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. But one necessity for me, always, is a Leatherman with a good pair of scissors...

This ^ all day. If you just want a multi tool, then find one that suites your needs. For me, I want something for the range days with the rifle so I'll be picking up a Multitasker 3 when the time comes.

I always preferred the Gerber multi tool to the leather man. Main reason is that the way the handles are constructed.
