Ended up Going with a 47" LG 1080p 120hz

Got it for $1099 (like $400 off)

Just got done mounting it on the wall....so far so good.....

Edit: The LED was $2000 ($700 off), but I figured for half the price this was the way to go.
Pictures or it didn't happen...

Now that's what I'm talking about! Sounds like you got a decent deal. As far as I'm concerned if as long as the picture don't like look like crap, don't cost a fortune, and keep turning on any, TV is fine for me.

Enjoy it man. Let me know how hanging it works for you. I have two in the house and they're just sitting on TV stands. I have seen some slick TV entertainment units with a steel tube in a J hook that suspends it above the cabinet. Rather slick but I only saw it once in a Sams club and have not seen the same thing for a while.
I say hang the sucker on your wall... my 42" Philips Ambi-Light LCD sits on my wall and looks very pretty. I'm in favour of hanging them unless you have a small screen in which case the wall seems to dwarf them.

I thoought i never would of either but at the time you couldnt find this tv for less then 4k The Kuro model now sells for 5k even in this economy. This tv at the time was a few years in advance to most other companies. The half life on the plasma bulb( 50% saturation in this many hours) was 500,000 hours. Were most are 1/5 that. Also you have to remember that 2+ years ago the economy hadnt quite fallen apart yet and bigger tv sets were really just starting to come down. This tv still shocks me on the color and pic. Also it was 1 of the only sets with a full glass panel.(very expensive to make).

And as far as the surround sound. I think it's what 1 wants to spend on accessories. My Boston Accoustics setup to some would be cheap. But the 2k I spent on the towers and Onkyo reciever were enough for my budget at the time. Also to see my wife jump out of the recliner on the scene of Spider Man when thay chase the Sandman with the guard dogs was priceless.
Adam I think many would say that the Thousands most of us have in cigars would get alot of head as well. Its all relative.

True true. Mostly it's a wow factor to me. I'm not much one to judge on spending. I buy cases of beer that average $35 and at times reach $90. To each his own ya know?
