Didn't see this posted so sorry if It's a duplicate.. but have you tried rotating your cigar as you're smoking? No expert but when I smoke I'm either constantly touching up the cigar or rotating to ensure its burning evenly.

noob q, whats the diff btwn toasting and charring? if i hold the stick to the flame until the foot turns red before taking the first puff or draw, is that heating it too hot?

Update. Enjoyed a stick the other day sitting in the sun, beer in hand. I took a good amount of time to light it. Started out with wooden matches but after about 6 got tired of striking. Moved to the POS bic style, but paid a lot of attention to flame distance and evenly toasting and getting a nice even cherry. Even outside in the wind it burned pretty damn well. Only one relight because I took too long. It was a gooder! :)
