I travel quite a bit and my experience is identical to what most others have posted.

In 15+ years of travelling both internationally and domestically I have always gotten my "lost" luggage back, generally within 24 hours. The airline has always delivered it to my house or hotel with the exception of one time in China where I picked it up at the airport just in time to catch my next flight.

Only time it happened to me, I had it back the next day.
Same here. Next day. Shuffling connecting flights is what did it. The next day it arrived. I drove back to the regional airport I started my trip from. 30 minute ride but I didn't want to give Fedex a chance to lose it as well.

The girl at the terminal is your friend. It's last known scan should be in the system. You will also need to describe the luggage. Work the phones tonight. Don't forget the hotel if the carrier had your itinerary. But youre a globe trotter you know that. I say odds are good. .

My buddy flew his wife out to Egypt and she got her bag back when she checked in for the return flight lmfao. Dude spent like $500 on clothes and shit for her and she got all her shit back no problem. I feel like at that point I just don't want my bag back.

They're home safe
Nice bomb you did yourself there!

next time, put them in the carry-on. In fact, you can have small luggage in carryon, so do as I do and travel with everything in carryon. More hassle to carry around, but no transit will make you hunt for fresh underwear in that 24 hrs period. Or opus.

im glad you got your babies back!

as someone that travels a lot (a LOT)... here is what we do...
1. cigars go in your carry-on.
2. cigars go in your carry-on, dammit!
3. when traveling with someone (spouse, significant other, etc), split the clothes among the multiple luggages.
it used to be "this is my luggage, that one is yours".. until we went on a 2 week cruise. now, we have never lost luggage, but we met a couple that lost one of theirs. The lady was fine, but her husband lost his, and there is literally no way for the airline to get the luggage back to him until he got home (we were, of course, bouncing around from country to country, port to port). this poor guy had to buy clothes on the ship, in port, etc. splitting up clothes between the luggage almost ensures that at least SOME of your clothes will get to your destination.
