My position was eliminated today. If anyone knows of anything in the Minneapolis area, please let me know. I have a degree in Sport Management from the U of MN, and have experience as a QA Manager for a web based company.

That's horrible, Josh, I'm sorry about that Bro! Laying someone off 2 weeks before Christmas...that smacks of douchebaggery.

If I still lived in the Cities I could probably come up with an idea, but I'm out of the loop now. My Dad is still there and was laid off last year, but he found something in just a couple weeks. Hopefully you can get something quickly. Just don't forget to go sign up for unemployment and such right away (don't worry, it happens to most of us at some point), and if it happens to last a couple months and you need health insurance, go for "Minnesota Care" which is partially subsidized. My wife and I did that when we were in grad school, it was a very nice help.

Praying for ya, bro!

Sorry to hear about the job loss, bro. Things look bleak here as well--not sure how long I'll have a job (weeks? maybe a month?).

I suggest you smoke one of your very best sticks tonight! I know that if I got layed off, I'm gonna smoke the best stick I got!

Sorry to hear that!

Why don't you start your own web company? Can't hurt in the meantime. You never know - it may take off & be the best thing that happened to yeh!

That is horrible, mate! Bastages!

But, a tad ago I heard Chuck give Gale the best advice I could hear regarding this:
OK. You have had three days to feel sorry for your self now get it in gear. Update your resume. Start calling everyone you know. Dont ask for a job just ask for three names. Build your network. Check the local church bulletin for a job networking group. Talk to brothers here that have the same back ground. Network, network, network. Most people look at the calander and throw in the towel till after the holidays. Not you baby. You are going to be the guy the contacts 500 people in the next 30 days and gets the interview because YOU have your shit togather.

It sux, its hard but kick yourself in the butt, stand up and go get that job.
I'm sure ye'll get back up. Just like with the surgery.

I hate this crap. Companies do this in Nov and Dec to take the write off in the current year. It is just cold blooded business and it sucks. Keep your head up dude. Things will work out.

Sorry to hear that man but seems like you're looking forward which I believe is the best way of looking at it. I'm sure there's something better out there waiting for you. Keep your head up and keep us posted.
