Looking for recommendations here. Cigars that have lots of nice, complex flavours, but aren't going to leave me with a nicotine high.

I'm not a smoker (of cigarettes) and to be honest I really do not enjoy the buzz that nicotine gives me. At all.

So...recommendations??

I would love to help but honestly I haven't gotten a buzz in quite a bit.

I'm thinking I probably just need to get myself "adapted" with mild-medium cigars for a while then slowly progress to fuller ones.

I'm very interested in checking out the Excalibur Dark Knight, which seems to have the characteristics I mentioned - full of flavour, not so much strength.

My nicotine tolerance seems a bit high, so take my suggestions for whatever they're worth....

Those sound quite wonderful.
They are. Considering your post about adapting yourself to mild-medium cigars, though, these may on second thought give you that buzz you don't want––the Angeleses are definitely within the solid medium range in terms of their strength.

Most Fuentes BESIDES Opus X are pretty spicy without the nicotine push (which I also detest---Hense no Opus for me)

Henry Clay, Viaje Oro, 601 Red, I can't think of any more at the moment.

I'll put in a vote for Sultans . Lots of flavor, on the mild side...and there's a group buy going on right now if you wanted to pick some up. And the above mentioned Henry Clays are quite nice also .

Pa,
I'm with you I don't like the buzz. I think the key is being hydrated. the only times I feel buzzed are when I haven't drank alot of water that day.

But to answer your question about cigars

I also ordered a few 5 Vegas Gold which I'll get to try in 2 weeks when I arrive in NYC.

They're the number 1 brand on CI right now, and ranked "Mild-Medium".

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I can't find Sultans on CI - am I maybe looking in the wrong place?

And what is a group buy? *embarassed*

A group buy is when several members of the forum go in together to buy cigars - or accessories, or libations, etc. You'll also see 'splits' similar to the group buy but usually only 2,3 or maybe 4 people. Usually done either because someone has access to an item that others do not, or you get a price break when buying in bulk... or you just want a few of something that requires you to buy a larger quantity.

Try a LFD
Now that's just mean!

Romeo & Julietta Viejo
Rocky Patel Vintage 1992
Perdomo Champagne

Don't get suckered in by rankings on CI. They tend to push their in house brands pretty exclusively, and a lot of them are garbage.

There have definitely been some great suggestions here so far. Fuente is probably the one that I think is best, as said, everything but the Opus X line, in my experience has been mild-medium, but full flavored. They also have pretty much flawless construction.
