It's a pretty windy day. Initial notes of pepper, cream, and a light sweetness. Draw is perfect, smoke is good, burn is a little wavy but on course, and ash is looking a bit weak. Chocolatey notes start to appear and our accompanied by cedar. Soon after that herbal flavors come up. These herbal flavors may not dominate the profile but they definitely define the profile. They vary in intensity, sometimes there, some times to a lesser extent. I never was able to pin the sweetness down which grew throughout the smoke and started toward the wayside around the last third. This was an excellent smoke from a flavor perspective, it had some complexity to it but I wouldn't say that it was heavily complex. I thought this was medium-full smoke in strength and in body. The construction could have been a bit better. Yes the draw was perfect, smoke output was fulfilling, and the burn line never got too bad, but it required at least 3 relights, full relights, and the ash flaked like dust literally a lot of the ash disappeared in the wind.

Overall I really enjoyed the Mini Mum and it does remind me of the Black Label blend that it is based off of to some extent. Thinking back I believe I like the Monster sized The Mummy more so but I will check it out soon enough and be able to do another comparison. This was smoked in a hour and a half.

Thirdwheel Notes: ;-)
* Pete Johnson released the Mini Mum before releasing the Full Size The Mummy.

* The Monster series is based off of horror movie characters.

* I don't particularly enjoy horror movies.

* You can wiki the movie The Mummy on wikipedia. It can also be found on IMDB.

* There are quite a few films and even video games based off The Mummy.

* I once had to leave a sleepover because of a horror movie as a young child.

* That movie was not The Mummy and I'm not saying which movie it was.

* Carrie (1976) also shook me up as a child...I was already at home.

* Interestingly enough the last time I smoked a Tatuaje Black Label Petite Lancero I didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do.

* When the The Mummy (Mini Mum's biggest brother) was released I had a dress box in the shopping cart and then decided I wasn't going to purchase the cigars only to end up buying them later on, but I was only able to get the non-dress box by that point, which is 3 cigars less.

* I wish I had those extra 3 cigars at this point in time.

* All Little Monsters boxes could be considered dress boxes, if you think of it that way.

* I have yet to try Tatuaje Mummy from the Pudgy Monsters sampler, but am willing to trade if possible.

* Tatuaje Monster Series releases normally coincide with the holiday Halloween, however both Little Monsters and Pudgy Monster were released during the summer.

* It's not unusual for some people to celebrate Halloween by smoking a Tatuaje Monster release during the month of October.

* October is the 10th month of the calendar year, it is the first month of the fiscal year for the U.S. Federal Government.

* Tatuaje has released the 2016 Monster Series cigar The Hyde which is paired with 2015s The Jekyll.

* Mini Mum is not an actual character in any media that I know of. It is however a bike rack.

* if you put Mini Mum together you get "minimum", which could be a play on words that equates to little for Little Monsters.

* Pete Johnson failed to confirm this "minimum" theory, however, I should note, I didn't exactly attempt to contact him on this matter.

* Interestingly enough, this Thirdwheel section of the review is loosely based off the format that cigar news site "Halfwheel" uses, if you hadn't guessed by now.

* About 94% of this review's readers already knew that before reaching this point. That is pure speculation.

* I may parody other cigar review sites in my forthcoming reviews.

* I really enjoyed adding all this extra nonsense.

* Horror movies don't frighten me any longer, I guess it was a childhood thing.

* This sample was purchased by myself, I don't run a cigar blog thus I think it kind of hard to request cigar samples from manufacturers.

Pudgy mummy. Not sure how it's different from the original but the sampler was all I could get of the monsters. Cold as balls outside but damn this is a good cigar.
I find the Pudgy Mummy hasn't really mellowed out yet. I love the full size Mummy. Hopefully the Pudgy Mummy catches up in a while for me.

Same here. The Pudgy Mummy was my least favorite out of the box but then I smoked the Mini Mum and it was fantastic.
I've talked to others who thought the same. So apparently the age does wonders.

Holy crap the Little Drac I had last night was amazing! I'm going to age the rest of the Pudgy Drac for a couple of years based on how the Little is smoking now!

Smoking a Little Frank now to see how it compares to the Pudgy Frank #MonthofMonsters

Here you go @THEMISCHMAN

Just finished the Little Frank and it was good. But I would say the Pudgy Frank is just as good. The Pudgy version has the bigger ring gauge and smokes slower accordingly. For the premium you pay for a Little over a Pudgy, in my opinion I'd take the Pudgy now.

I'm getting ready to light up a Pudgy Tiff now. I have to say initially this was my least favorite Pudgy but it is growing on me as they age. Still don't like it as much as the Tat Cabaiguan for a Connecticut wrapped cigar but I've been pleasantly surprised how well it's come along.
