Yeah I’m a dress for the ride and not the slide guy myself. Helmets are mandatory in my state but as soon as I cross the state line it comes off. Nothing to debate here I know the importance and gear. But I love the freedom....
Can't see the pic Brother! Nice bike I bet - Congrats!I got myself a 2008 Harley Street Glide. Newest bike in a long list.

Hell to the yeaz, way to go B!So, I’ve been wanting a bike for a while now and I finally got one - and at a price that you’d be pissed at me for.
Just picked this 2005 Boulevard C90 up.

As soon as I got it home, I removed the leather tassels, the saddlebags, and the sissybar. I’m going to put newer/better saddlebags on it later. I’ve already put a new battery in it and tomorrow I’m going to bleed the brake lines. I’ll get a new exhaust system before too long because it’s pretty quiet with its stock system.
Again, this is my first bike so I’m taking venturing into this whole thing like a sponge. I now have to get my license and I’m going to take the course soon.
I also just ordered a helmet after trying a bunch on locally to get a feel for what I like and hate. Went with an Arai XC and added a smoke face shield as well.
I’m hoping to put around 5,000 miles on this Boulevard to get comfortable with everything and then I’ll look at getting a newer Indian Scout or something. Time will tell but I’m also excited to learn things from you guys about this hobby/lifestyle.

Congrats Brandon! I agree 100% with @multi-useless on taking the MSF course. [in Arkansas, you can waive the road skills exam if you successfully complete a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Rider Course.] https://www.dmv.org/ar-arkansas/motorcycle-license.phpHell to the yeaz, way to go B!
My advice, if you've never done this before, would be to take a new rider's class - you mentioned "taking the course" - that's a new rider's class, right?
Keep the rubber side down, and keep us posted on your progress - that beard of yours is going to be even more epic when it's blowing in the wind of freedom like that of a Viking god!
Yes, the MSF course is what I’m signing up for. One of my favorite feelings is wind blowing through the beard. Can’t wait to feel it on the bike. Haha!! We shall see. Baby steps(ish).I’ll bet you a box of tats that you’ll buy another one within a year. You’ll see
Good point on the upgrades. We’ll see. I’m usually balls deep in a hobby so I’ll probably end up buying crap for this bike anyway but I will at least remember your advice as I hand over my debit card.Congrats Brandon! Personally, I wouldn't spend any additional $$ on upgrades on that bike if you are planning to get a different bike in the near future. Exhaust systems and 'good' saddlebags are not cheap (hopefully you can find some used) and that would be $$ saved for your future bike. You live in an area that has fantastic roads and you'll have 5K on the odometer in no time
LOL - YOU do YOU Bro!Good point on the upgrades. We’ll see. I’m usually balls deep in a hobby so I’ll probably end up buying crap for this bike anyway but I will at least remember your advise as I hand over my debit card.![]()
Yes sir!LOL - YOU do YOU Bro!Enjoy and post pics during your build process!
I'm totally messing with you. My buddy Joe went with me to HBH:2018 which dang close to the Dragon Tail. He rides a 2015 Road Glide and wouldn't stop talking about how he wished he rode to HBH instead so he could ride the DT. I got my first bike this year and the goal is for him, our other neighbor, and I to ride to HBH:2019 and also hit the DT. You should join in!Old hippies never die. On a serious note that was a helluva fun ride. That was up on the dragon tail
