I haven't tried the Le Bijou so I'm in no position to comment on its rating. What I do find interesting is the statement that the box press somehow enhances the flavor over the normal torpedo shape. I find that just plain silly.

I'm a big fan of the Le Bijou, but haven't tried the torpedo yet. I always have the petite robusto in my humidor and I'm glad I stocked up on them this past month. I also like the toro, but didn't care as much for the Churchill for some reason.

On a side note, I've tried a couple of the flatheads in a smaller size and thought it was one of the worst cigars I've ever smoked. To each his own :).

I love the MF Le Bijou .. Do I think it's a 97 #1 stick def not .. But we all know what they do and how it works. They only smoke the first third. Do I think it deserves top 5, definitely I would put it in a top five spot. I think if they smoked the entire stick they would rate the sticks completely different.

I've never tried it that vitola, but I'd assume it's pretty good. My favorite this year has been the Hawaii Exclusive (box pressed toro fino) Le Bijou.

I bought the last two Bijou torpedo's at my B&M on Friday, and smoked one. I thought it was definitely a decent stick. Definitely have had some sticks in the past that did not come close to living up to their rating on CA. (Flor De Las Antilles comes to mind, if you want some PLEASE PM me.) I had a long talk with the buyer at my B&M about all the limited, and small release cigars that you guys were talking about like Las Calaveras, Caldwell etc...He carries very little of that kind of stuff because the availability is not there. He also stated that readers of Halfwheel and BOTL are in the minority for his shops customers. If he brings in the limited stuff he might get stuck with it when it's not the hot thing any more. Most of the guys at the shop smoke the same stuff all the time, and he wants to carry sticks that are going to be available all the time for his core business. I can see his point. Since they don't sell on line, they can't chase the hot stuff. If anyone is interested 2guyscigars still had 3 boxes left of the Bijou torpedos as of around 11:30 this morning EST.

That is true of a lot of B&M's @fsfrancis The majority of cigar smokers aren't on forums and don't really follow the LE/Small Batch releases. Some shops do really well with the LE's and Small Batch because they make the effort to educate their customers and make the effort to promote them.

its funny Craig, but the whole time I was talking to him, I'm thinking that Emersons does really well with all the limited releases, and if he was in the humidor selling and pointing out some of his more interesting cigars he might be able to easily sell them as well as some special limited releases that he could bring in. : ) They had a cabinet of Lito Gomez Small batch 3 for like a year that they didn't move because no one would point out how good a cigar it was. I bought the last 5 or so he had. They didn't get the 4th or 5th or 6th. I think selling on line has some advantages for selling hot new stuff, as well as being in a state with low/no tobacco tax. He could never compete online because of the tobacco tax in GA. It all boils down to how you want to run your biz. I think they're doing pretty well so its all good to me. I just have to buy the cool new stuff online instead of local.

Grabbed one the other day for $11 here in NJ where our B&M prices are already high, couple days later at another B&M it was listed for $16.
