Well I enjoyed my last cigar for quite a while last night. It was a Tat frank. The one and only I have ever had and it was awesome. The reason I am taking a break is doctors orders. I will be having gastric bypass surgery at the end of the summer and they want me to stop smoking till after I recover from the surgery. I said thats a fair enough deal. I get to go back after the recovery so I think I'll be able to do that. The plus side is my collection can keep growing and I can set up a nice selection for my triumphant return. The down side is I smoke every day and this is gonna be a tough one to do. Wish me luck guys and thanks for listening.

Good luck Andy! I hope and pray that there are no complications with your surgery and you're back smoking amongst us in no time.

Keep us posted...

Bob thats part of the problem. My job is to taste but it usually doesn't stop there. We had brownie experiments last week and mad six different batches of brownies. Guess what I did? I ate 6 brownies instead of just tasting them. the Dr.s say I'll still be able to taste and eat somewhat but the tastes and bites are all I'm gonna need. Seem fair enough to me and I'll be able to lose 150# and keep it off.

As a word of encouragement, my boy lost over 125lbs, 16 months ago, he
has a 34 inch waist, and looks like he did when he was a teenager. He's
doing great with it. Says he only has to do one more surgery to remove the
excess skin! Good luck my friend!

Good luck and don't be a stranger around here (at least not any stranger than usual) just because you're taking a break from smoking.

That's great news Andy, and I feel that this is one of the areas that I have more experience than most of the other brothers haha. I just passed the one year post-op mark and I'll just let the numbers speak for themselves:

Starting weight: 365
Current weight: 190
Starting waist size: 44-46
Current waist size: 33-34
Starting shirt size: 3XL
Current shirt size: L

You won't even be able to recognize yourself in old pictures! Im proud of you bro, and of the tough, lifelong decision that you've made. It's a bummer about the smoking, but you'll be back to it in no time. I was smoking one cigar a week about 3 months post-op. Way to go bro!

Dan

Best of luck Andy and you'll be back and feeling better than ever in no time.

Dan isn't kidding, I didn't see him for several months and barely recognized him, he was half of what he was the last time I had seen him!
