Need Help With a Boxer Name

Sarge is a fine name, but I like AZCigarNut's suggestion...Habano has a certain ring to it. Certain dogs have names that seem to be given to certain breeds. At work when we have a "Gizmo" coming in you can bet that's it's gonna be a Yorkie. As such I like original names.

We had a Boxer when I was a kid. We named him Hercules, as my dad, a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force, was a flight mechanic on a C130 Hercules, "Herky Hauler".

I like "Sarge".

Sarge is cool. The only down-side is that you'll be talking down to / scolding Sarge a lot. But still, great name.

I think Private would be a great name for a dog too, and funny when he's in trouble, lol:

"Private, get your head out of that toilet!"
"Private, quit sniffing that bitch's butt!"

and of course:
"Private, bring me my travel humi!"

I always use this test for animal names:

Ask yourself, "How will I feel when I yell (insert name) in public as my dog is humping someone else's dog?"

It really works when you don't like the name your wife has picked for the dog (things like "shnookems," and "puffy") but it can also work here.

my friend had this theory, based on this right here. wanted to call a pet "tony danza". " aww! isn't tony danzo SOOO CUTE!". "dammit, tony danza crapped in the living room. again."

or, see what the beastie responds to. that is how my cats were named "bacon" and "pom-pom".

All, well most, great suggestions! Ran Habano by the wife, she wasn't crazy for it :disappoin Chopper's cool too, I like that. Got a shrug from my wife, so at least it's not a no.

The dog is of German descent. Name him Bester. (the boxer) As the dog is always the families "Bester Freund" (Best friend)

This is what I named my rescue Boxer, he had to go back he was crazy with other dogs and anytime food was around.
