As a former firefighter I wear a metal bracelet on my right wrist, it reads: Terrance Hatton FDNY Rescue 1 9/11/01

Terrance was related distantly to me through marriage, he was my uncle's brother on the other side of my family. I met only one time on a golf course in Chapel Hill, NC in 2000. I left a major impression on life that will last forever. He had no hesitation that fateful morning. All gave some, but he gave all that day.

I was in DC for traffic court that day, and knew of the Towers before heading in. Court was canceled, however. Computers were down, cell phones weren't working, and everyone had this confused look on their faces....and then later, everyone heard a massive explosion, and I just remember thinking that our country was under a massive attack. What a strange, strange feeling that was.

I will never forget!

A myriad of mixed emotions ran through me that day as does now watching that video. So sad, so angry.

Shuckins sent me an 80th anniversary Padron that i was saving for a special occasion, I just lit it in remembrance of the brave men and women that never flinched when called upon. God bless them all.
